Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
As the day rolled on, the smell of a distant city was in the wind. Considering we were walking into the wind, taking turns walking backwards in an attempt to shield our eyes and noses from the winds and still stay on track, it was a good feeling. I had begun to have second thoughts about this Maarsah.
But his smell was mixed into the wind as well. I had never smelled something like it before, and it made me uncomfortable.
As the sun began to set, we saw a small oasis about a half-mile up ahead. It was a little out of our way, but not significantly. Thankfully the wind had died down to no more than a slight gust every few seconds.
"That oasis might be a good shelter for the night," He said, breaking our day-long silence. "Although it'll be appealing to other humanoids and predators as the night rolls on."
"Wouldn't the shelter of the trees, even in they're small, widely space palm trees, be more ideal than out in the open?" I asked in the most neutral tone I could.
"Yes. Both have risks, but the benefits of the oasis out weigh the potential risks. I think." He said that last word very hard. I had no choice but to trust him. Although I hadn't even known him for 24 hours, he knew more about this wilderness than me.
When we got to the oasis, I sniffed the three-and-a-half by three-meter pool of water, just to make sure it was safe. The pool must've been about a meter deep, and was crystal clear. It lay in the shade of 6 mid-sized palm trees and surrounded in a small bush forest of palm trees and fruit-berry plants. I had barely taken a wiff before plunging my snout into the water, drinking as fast as I could and swallowing it so hard it hurt my chest. In my dehydrated "high", I had forgotten how to breathe and attempted to breath under water. I pulled my self away so I wouldn't cough into the pool. After a good minute of coughing up the water, I realized Maarsah had been watching me. He laughed when ours eyes met, and seemed thoroughly entertained at me. I would've been embarrassed but I was still very thirsty. This time I drank slower.
"Watch it, Steak-knife. You'll shock your system. let your body use the water you've already wolfed down." He said after 3 minutes of me steadily drinking, and pulling me away from the pool.
"How are you not plunging face-first into the water?" I gasped, ignoring his petty pet name for me.
He shrugged. "I'm not thirsty." He said.
Another red flag about this guy. It must've been 40 degrees out today, swelteringly dry heat with dust and sand getting blown in our faces and he "wasn't thirsty?" I sighed.
A careless mongoose had become our main course for what little we had to eat. The fruit-berries were rather tart, but I was too hungry to care. I taught Maarsah how to start a "smokeless fire" with the fruit-berry leaves and husks of palm tree bark. It wasn't long after dark that we extinguished the fire and went to sleep. Him, in a bed of palm leaves out in a slight clearing behind the fruit-berry bushes, but hidden from the view of anyone who came to the pool to drink, and me, I slept under a palm shrub on a spread of palm leaves not too far from Maarsah. I fell asleep fast, hoping nothing would get us in the night.
Hope nothing detects or harms Maarsah and/or I durning the night.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
I quickly drink down Zombie (X1) it gives me a nice alcholic burn as it swoshes past my lips it then burns down my throat enjoyably. We soon arrived at a grey looking rather meak building that has the words "CONTROL TOWER" largly writen in white accross the side of it. The area around it was rather barren and the noise of the night was almost dulled or distant here the only thing in the sorrounding area was what appeared to be a concrete slap that must be the take off zone. There was a large ship looking object in the middle of a take off zone it had printed on the side of it in black defining letter "Tornado" this I prosumed was its name and there for the ship in which we were to board. the stairs hung there waiting our arrival we soon took to climbing them as I did so my eyes began to wander to the windows through which I noted several hundred people quite a few crew members, a bar, a onboard library, a cabin in which to sit in, which I prossemed to be the main cabin, a cluster of personal quaters and a good series of hallways connecting this all as we came onto the ECT Tornado I began to look around take note of things, escape routes, crew members doings, the cent of perfume, the noise of the crowd. As I take a empty seat in a corner of the main cabin I begin to think of all I knew of the mission form Dwiin "a portal of magic? really? what does he take me for a foul" I muttered under my breath. The entire concept was a bunch of mumbo jumbo magic stuff but I get a free ride and free drinks so I suppose whatever... these wer my thoughts as I belt myself in and prepare for the long jorney

Waiting and watching the ships go in and out of the space port he soon becomes bored and hungry, use rock to dirt in a back alley to create some space to grow food.

I react to this by pulling out my weapon, but as it is apparent that nothing has occurred, I store it and continue onwards, still searching for the camp that has led me through all of this grief.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
After a long day walking through the dessert, hopefully towards civilization, while shielding our faces from the winds and sand, we found an oasis. I thought to myself, how strange it was to find one on Tartarus, but quickly decided to go there anyway. As soon as we got to the pool, she began to drink. After a few minutes I pulled her away, snarking at her. She asked me why I didn't drink, and I told her I wasn't thirsty. In reality, I still had some wine and didn't want to share.
Role for Vokun to not notice my wine.

You find a library onboard the ship. There you find a magic section, within which are a few spell books, you notice. Unfortunately, they are in a different language, so translating them will take time. The librarian notices you inspecting them and says you can keep them, since no-one else ever showed interest in them.

Not only do you find him, but you run into him as he's walking down the hallway!

You see a camp in the distance, but a sandstorm picks up. Visibility is at 20% of normal until the sandstorm stops.

"Oh, sorry about that, man. I was looking for you, but didn't expect to find you so soon." I apologized after running into him. "I found these magic books in the library, and the librarian said I could keep them. I still need to translate them, and that will take some time. I am sorry for running into you though." I head back to my room to drop off the books, then I decide to look for books that could help me translate the spell books.
Look for someone or something to aid me in translating the books I just got.

The Silent Watcher tries to locate this person.
Find this someone. (Megaprr's character)
Sorry about lack of flavor text, but meh right now.
I did stat checks by choosing a minimum stat requirement, and a threshold you needed to score higher than, then added all bonuses and penalties to the base stat, then rolled a d100. If the score was equal to or greater than the threshold, it was successful.

Still with my "official look", I smile apologetically and say, "Oh, I apologize, I did not mean to interrupt." Due to the size of the vessel, I knew that it wasn't just a regular transport, but a ship designed to investigate something. I knew I could use that to my advantage. "My name is Haelis, I'm part of the investigation team. I was actually looking for someone and ask a few questions and ended up here somehow. I haven't been briefed very well of what's going on, so I don't know the layout of the ship and where I can go. You wouldn't know where I can find such a room would you?" I hoped that he wouldn't see through the lie. so just in case, I prepared to use my magic if nesessary.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
As I begin to pocket my cellphone, after a call that had come as a suprise soon after I sat down, Brom ran into me quickly saying something about spell books and apologizing, I think, but this did not trouble me nearly as much as the call I had just received, I shivered at the thought it was horible! how could I have not done something about it? how could I still do nothing?
As I tried to think of a way of getting out of my current situation, I once agein took mind to my sorroundings. The walls had pictures of what I presume are dignitaries or perhaps past captains alligned along it with little brass plates below it stating names on them. I read a few "Captain, Kirk, James T","Captain, Vader, Darth","Captain, Segail, Mario" a series of pictures showing a man in a yellow uniform, a man in some sort of black suit, and what looked to me to almost be a italian plumber accompanied these plates. The wall behind this site was a very faint and light gray the color you see the sky a few hours after it rains with a dark wood finish. There were three door ways out of this hallway one I knew lead off the ship another I knew lead to the main cabin the third I prosume from my observations earlier and the sudden appearnce of Brom I assume must be the library. The wallway had a slightly staralized smell to it at the moment.
I started through the doorway into the main cabin still thinking hard, I barly even noticed my soroundings. until I turned around to actually sit back in my seat and I noticed a wooden sign with plain black writing stating there was a bar were a door was in the wall thinking on the spot, I headed towards it noting that people gave me a wide berth if posiblea as I moved passed them this was made blatently obvious when the door to the bar opened and a man and a women who looked to be having a good time took one look at me and frawned and then headed back into the bar. Thought of what might be the cause of this reaction from these people then I remebered that I must have looked absolutly mutinus after receiving that phone call I soon turned my face neutral and headed into the bar.
Once inside I noticed that there was a fair few people in the bar allready I quickly headed over and ordered a drink for myself drinking it down in one foul gulp I soon got a second then a third and by the time I had drank down my fourth I could walk straight anymore acknoldging this I soon payed the barkeep tring to pay the man quadrople the money I owed I headed to my seat to sleep it all off
Attempt to get back to seat while intoxicated(not quite drunk but really close) and sleep it off

My pleasure at finally finding the elusive prison camp cannot be dampened by a mere sandstorm. In fact, I can use these swirling masses as transportation. With a feral grin, I attempt to shadow travel through the shadowy sandstorm to the outskirts of the prison camp.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
Unlike the pervious night, I didn't sleep though the night. I awoke to the sound of movement nearby. I was on my back, so I looked to my left, towards the noise. It was very, very dark. Only the light of the stars and the light of the three moons, but my eyes were accustom to this. Back home, we had only two moons. I saw that Maarsah was awake, but I was angled away from him. I quietly moved my right ear to hear him better. He was drinking something. I was still sleepy, and I assumed he was drinking water. I heard him get up and move away from the pool, and lay back down again. He was out of my line of sight.
Then I heard a tin on tin clicking. A twist-open lid? from what? I heard a slight metal-hinge creak and gulping. Then the wind carried the scent of what it was he was drinking.
My eyes shot open. I froze. It was a very weak drink, but it was a drink. I didn't care. I hadn't had a drink since that last incident with the would-be rapist. How long ago was that? Two weeks? Three? I was behind bars for 10 days at least. Then the 2 days in the holding cell for my trial. I was on trial for a day, plus the 5 days it took to get to Tartarus and yesterday. 19 days? 2-and-a-half weeks. I hadn't been that sober since I was 18.
I had just enough patience to wait for his breathing to even out and deepen. As silently as I could, almost high on the scent of booze, I rolled over onto my paws and hands. Rolling my knees backwards, I began to stalk towards him. The thought of the alcohol in my system making me crazy and desperate, wild with a thirst the pool would never quench. I flattened my ears and almost stopped my breathing. Only half a foot from him, his back turned to me, I stopped and stayed there, crouching like an actual cat. Using what little magic I knew, I closed my eyes and tried to use a spell to put him in a temporary coma.
If I wasn't so desperate, I would've woken him up and asked if he would share. But I wasn't willing to risk a "no". I reached for his back pocket, holding my breath, snuck my fingers into the pouch, and felt the cool tin flask.
Attempt to pickpocket Maarsah's flask. He is sound asleep.
Also use a Apprentice level Spirit spell to put him in a coma for 2 minutes.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
I say my goodbyes and leave the chamber. I leave the room and walk through the halls again. Although I was confident in my acting skills, I still needed some insurance, just in case I was caught. I find a quiet corner and lift up a floor tile. In the small space, I can see several wires and pipes that look fairly important. I decide that that's where I'll work. I proceed to take around a liter of water from my flasks and place it around the wires and pipes, making a ring shape then, I compress the water to such a state that should I die, my magic would disperse and therefore rapidly expand the water: causing an explosion. to facilitate the remote transfer of magic, I open another of my flasks and wrap the water around my legs in an almost microscopic string. then I attach the string to the makeshift "bomb". now, wherever I walk, I'll leave a string of water invisible to the human eye on the floor that connects me and the bomb . should the string be broken, I could still contain the explosion, but only for around half a minute, giving me just enough time to slowly expand the water. After finishing the device, I replace the tile and continue walking in search of answers. Contrary to what most would think, splitting my concentration is not as difficult as it would seem considering I've had to deal with my inner demon for over a hundred years.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
As I reach to pull the flask out of his pocket, I suddenly lose my balance and fall face first into the sand, taking a mouthful of the glass-and-granite-like stuff. As I begin to cough it out, I realize I have awoken him.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks, half asleep, half drunkenly.
I continued to cough out sand. He takes a canister out from his pack and goes over to the pool. I hear him fill it. He returns and pulls me into a sitting position.
"Use this to clear your mouth. Don't drink it though. The sand can hurt your system." He half-demands. I do as he says, And breathe in as my airway clears.
"I tripped." I managed to cough out.
"Ya, I got that part." He barked. "But what were you doing?"
I felt myself begin to shake. "Booze?" Is all I manage to say.
He pulls away from me. "Ya, what about booze?"
"You have some." I began to regain my ability to speak.
"Maybe."
I scowl. "Are you willing to share?"
"Didn't you get sent here for drunken murder?" He asks. His eyes are a red in the dim light of the night.
I had to think about a response. "Maybe."
He sighs. "As much as I like a good drinking buddy, I'd rather not risk it. You understand... right?"
"Uh, Ya, I guess." I spit out, annoyed that it was a no.
"Good. Now go back to sleep and try not to eat more sand." He says finally. He lies down and is quickly starting to even out his breathing.
I return to my space under the small palm tree, and try to follow suit. My mind keeps wandering to the alcohol in his flask. As I drift off I begin to think of something to offer Maarsah in return for some alcohol. I come up with nothing. Instead I turn my attention of ways to get booze in the 'civilization' or, if we ever make it there, Enigma.
Attempt to sleep through the night.

Re: RtD Altered - Happy New year!
I regard the camp in extraordinary detail, watching to see if there are guards, how many there are, what rotations or patterns they follow and how to slip by them. Through careful observation I notice a minor discrepancy in the guard rotations at the south western gate.

Look for a sparring partner onboard the ship, as well as an area to spar in.
Roll: 4
While looking for an area to spar in, you meet another passenger who is dressed in full combat gear. You approach him and ask if he wants to spar, to which he replies that he does. He states that it will consist of now weapons or magic, only physical combat, such as martial arts and boxing. He says that we'll spar until both of you are too tired.

Can't let you do this. You can't artificially extend the range of hydrokinesis with hydrokinesis, and water can't be compressed. Sorry.
As you walk down the hallway, you can't help but shake the feeling that something knows you are there.

After a long day of searching, you have found no plants of use. You had people try to sell you everything from pottery to human organs to various drugs, but no plants. The busy streets have all but emptied, and you see that various things stir in the darkness.

You can feel that you are closing in on the thing you seek, but what it is, you have no idea.

Okay, this is really my fault for the lack of information, so this time I'll let it go. I never stated the distance to the camp, so this time the roll will go as planned. I will go more in detail in the future to prevent further confusion.
Roll: 6
You slip inside the camp with ease, easily evading the guards until you are inside. Once there, a drunken warden mistakes you for a prisoner on the loose, and locks you up inside one of the jail cells. As he walks away, you hear him muttering about his job, and the lack of pay.

"Alright, I'm okay with those rules." I reply, incredibly pleased with this. "Let me put my weapons aside, and then we can start. Oh, and how about we make this interesting? We have matches to one point, one undisputed hit on the other person, then we reset to do the next round. Of course that means we'll need an unbiased judge, but we should be able to find one." I say as I place my sword and bag on the ground, and ready myself in a martial arts-like stance. "What do you say?"
Propose the new rules, and to look for a judge, but ready myself just in case he declines.
