As some of my best troops are healing in the medbay (and TDK and choppedliver in the Psi Labs) a UFO shows up.
My thoughts: "I need those alien alloys."
So I attack it with a decently-leveled squad (with BAM as the named character).
I look outside. 3 Thin Men.
I look inside.
3 Sectoid Commanders (which have psionic abilities) and 7 Mutons (which are rather difficult to kill).
One rocket, 4 deaths, and one critically injured soldier (BAM) later, I finally won. After blowing up the power source, but meh I need alloys not Elerium (but I got 25 of that anyways).
2 ingame days later, none of my soldiers are back from the medbay or anything.

Chryssalid Description: Tons of health, ridiculously fast, one-hit-kill melee attack that turns my guys into zombies (which, upon death, become MORE CHRYSSALIDS AAAAAAARGH)
And they show up during Terror missions, where there are civilians running around for Chryssalids to kill to turn into more Chryssalids.

Ah, yes.
You are all dead.
TDK, BAM, and an idiot unnamed character died to Mutons. Colonel Longhena died to a Sectoid Commander. choppedliver and the other unnamed character (who was my only psionic) got mind controlled into shooting Colonel Longhena.

I got a bunch of varied stuff.
My brother got an HDTV and Blu-Ray player for his room.
Though I did get my new computer (which, incidentally, can run Crysis fairly well according to systemrequirementslab).
StarCraft 2 works fine, on Ultra graphics settings, so...

Alright, 7 countries have cut funding. One more and I lose.
After a large number of Mutons and three Sectoid Commanders murdered my two Colonels, three Majors, and Captain.
After the upgraded Floaters murdered the next squad of rookies that I started training.
After more Mutons and Commanders murdered the squad and two SHIVs I sent after that.
Four rookies left. One with a light plasma rifle, three with laser rifles, all with Carapace Armor. Titan Armor is available, but I don't have the alloys.
TERROR MISSION
I move my first soldier up. He sees three chryssalids, two upgraded floaters, two repair drones...and a Sectopod.
All or nothing.
After my soldiers shoot the Sectopod, dealing a grand total of 9ish damage, it shoots back and immediately and instantaneously murders two of my four soldiers.
Chryssalids and floaters murder civilians.
One of my soldiers panic, and runs out into a different location. The sectopod shoots him, he dies.
Turn 2: My last soldier, in one futile effort, shoots at the Sectopod again. Miss.
Alien Activity. The repair drones have fully repaired the Sectopod, which amazingly enough misses. However, a floater hits, dropping the soldier to 1 HP. I move, to prevent the floater from flanking me. Shoot at a Chryssalid, killing it.
Turn 3, Alien Activity: The Sectopod fires, and misses. The floaters fire, and miss. A repair drone moves up, fires, and hits.
Game Over.

1457. I feel in some regards left out on x-mas though technically speaking it isn't anymore here but well... I think you know what I mean. So first present I open xbox controller charger thing and two movies analyze this and analyze that (both aren't bad, about mobster who goes to a shrink so...). second present collector edition of a rolling stones magazine and a gold card. Third Borderlands2, fourth a new pair of Sony headphones (still need to try them out but well Sony so...). Fifth and finally a Sony Ericsson phone (which actually has allmost as many features as a iPhone as far as I can tell but well... its not a iphone, thought I do consider myself lucky to have it don't get me wrong). All and all it wasn't too bad though in comparison it seems a little slim.

XCOM TTS Status update: IE shot down my Abductor and bunch of large scouts, but i am in progress of rebuilding them, and my Snakeman/Chryssalid Terror Ship still spams terror sites all over the place.
Also there was this crash site mission where i had 4 sectoids(3 soldiers 1 medic), i killed half of IE's squad but he stunned 3 of my soldiers, only medic left.
So i walk him like around the whoooooole map including walking near IE's Skyranger without getting in line of sight of IE's squad somehow, from lower right to the upper right corner of the map, where one of stunned sectoids was lying.
So i unstun him and murder rest of the XCOM squad.
Thus IE learned a lesson of "don't underestimate last sectoid on the map".

All except one soldier (an assault) who died on my playthrough was a sniper.
Every single sniper I've had (except my current one) is dead.

XCOM TTS Status update: Blaster launcher research finally finished on my side, as well as a few other very important researches.
IE still shooting down my large scouts, though that don't means much for me, i can make one each 2 ingame days, though he did destroyed my harvester and almost shot down my abductor. There were a few battlescape missions as well, in one IE's soldiers had really ridiculous reaction fire somehow, i had large scout full of floaters(I think 6 or 7), and he reaction fired them with OHKO into oblivion somehow.
One other mission i had slightly better positions and won, was fairly long one too(Had to wait a bunch of turns for last XCOM soldier to come into my UFO so i can ambush him, lol), the major event was that one of my grenades set off fire to a big part of the map over time, WITNESS THE GLORIOUS FIRE SPREAD.
In other news i finally found one of IE's bases, will be fun once certain ship will be made.
