No can do on both of those. Don't particularly care who plays my character. If we get more loot, just write it down on the same sheet I've been using.

>Wow, I'm actually doing rather well...wait that's just me keeping the quicksave key taped down.
EDIT: I found a homebrew tabletop RPG for the game. Made by /tg/ on 4chan, of all people. Took some digging to find a download, but I found it.
Looks...good for a nice, short session [not that your characters would last long]. By "short session" I mean maybe "leave village/town/outpost/whatever -> go wander around outside a bit -> go underground for a bit in a tunnel system"
If you survive. All humans have 50 HP and the first pistol does 1d20 damage.
...Then again, what do you expect would happen if you got shot three times in the chest?

1901. I will happly be there because its alot better than what I am currently doing which is f#$% all for an hoour till I get off work

I'll probably be there. Possibly early.
EDIT: Will be there.
And for hilarity's sake, I'll be sleep-deprived. You have been warned.
ALLNIGHTER GO
EDIT 2: Oh god bad idea dont watch amnesia: the dark descent videos at night no no no no no no no no no no no
EDIT 3: *continues watching*
EDIT 4: I will only consider playing this game if one of you buys it for me. I'll happily stream my reaction to it, in that case. [note that it wouldn't be a blind run, however, I know quite a bit about the game. But I haven't seen much of it.]

1903. Why bother buying my brother has a pirated version kicking around some where
Re: Count to a Million - PART TWO - Walls of Text. And numbers.
1904
Because if you're paying for it, I might as well play it.
[Alternatively just give me the price of the game [$20 I think] and I'll play it]
Also, you know my rule about pirating indie games, right? I did just up and buy AI War recently.

Wow. You are really cheap not to support an Indie dev like that. Who's the one always talking about supporting the Indie dev, and now look at you. Shameful.

What the fuck!?
I just said I bought the fucking game!
Not Amnesia, AI War!
What the hell, dude?
My rule about pirating indie games is "Do it to test them out. If I like it, buy it. If not, don't buy it." An improved demo, essentially.
"I did just up and BUY AI WAR RECENTLY"
---
Ignoring the WTF communication failure.
I am not buying Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Nor am I going to pirate it.
However, if someone buys it for me, I'll stream my reaction in return.
EDIT: I swear to [insert deity here] if this starts up another flame war

Yes, but here is what I don't get.
1. Why do you not want to buy Amnesia? It sounds like your type of game. And with how you crucify big-name developers and publishers, I thought you'd jump at the chance to get a game like that.
2. If you already pirated AI Wars, why did you then buy it? There were no functions that were only available to people who bought the game, and doing it after already pirating the game seems like a poor excuse for justification. Couldn't you just buy a game on the chance that you'll like it? I have more than a few times, and while they all haven't been excellent (Halo 4, Dues Ex: Human Revolution, etc.) I at least learned from my experiences. If you don't make the mistake in the first place, how can you learn from it?

1. Consider this: I actually have trouble watching videos of the game. I don't know why, there's just something in it that...ugh.* But if you feel like paying to see my reaction, I'll oblige. If someone we don't know gets me the game [it's on my wishlist on Steam for that very purpose], I will also do so.
2. To support Arcen Games, the developer. The ones actually making the game, as opposed to supporting companies with godawful customer support [*cough EA cough*]. The developers interact with the community enough that I chat with one of them regularly on their forum. And consider that it's on Steam. [Note - I got it from Indie Royale, if you know what that is].
Say I bought a game for Xbox. I get it, and I dislike it greatly, so I return it or trade it in or something like that. Alright, I get some of the money back.
You cannot do that on Steam. At all.
I've already made the mistake. [See: Sonic '06] Not making it again. [Also, you didn't like Deus Ex? I thought you did O_o]
And by the way, there are functions in AI War available only to people who bought the game.
AKA the ability to play for more than a three-hour game, 'cause that's the time limit.
Which, for comparison, is like downloading Starcraft 2 and only getting to play three-minute games. AI War games are extremely long.
Oh, and for the record, believe it or not, I don't actually pirate games that often at all, except to demo a game, or if the game is extremely old to the point where A) You can't really find it and B) It doesn't support the dev anymore [A surprising number of games, believe it or not]. Or C) I already own it in a lot of cases, but haven't found the disc or something like that [see: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Star Trek: Elite Force, Starcraft 1 [which I own 3 copies of, two physical ones and a digital one that came with SC2: Collector's Edition] etc.] Or D) To do something like get LAN support [even if it isn't technically LAN]. Remember when you could buy one copy of the game, set it up on 2 computers, and play LAN? Yeah.
Look, can we end this discussion before we set the forum on fire again?

*Theory: I've long since become desensitized to most forms of horror, but I don't recall being exposed to this particular variation very often. Alternatively, it's entirely possible, though highly unlikely, that I have some phobia I don't know about regarding some particular content in it.
EDIT: Theory 2: This is probably more likely, but I did watch those videos while pulling an all-nighter. A chunk of that might be stemming from sleep deprivation, plus content.

Re: Count to a Million - PART TWO - Walls of Text. And numbers.
1911. I am looking for some feed back on what I have got so far for the new DI mechanics
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Character Creation:
- 100 points per level
- player defined skills(think kinda like fate)
- for every 25 or more points in a skill you get a extra guess(get to that in a minute)
Dice Mechanic:
The GM rolls a dice(most commonly 6 sided) then you guess the number and the further away from the number you are the more you "fail", its the closest number if you have more than one guess, you also can only guess a number consecutively 3 times then you have to guess at least twelve different numbers(this includes repeats) before reuse. You are also required to guess at least 3 different numbers within a ten round period
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is only a rough idea, and it will effect NPCs so... give me some feed back

I could just alternate between guessing 3 and 4, you know. It would seriously lower the severity of failures [as opposed to guessing 6 and then rolling 1].
And why the "3 times consecutively only/3 different numbers every 10 rounds" rule? The chance of success is still identical. 1/6. Or 1/[dice type].

Re: Count to a Million - PART TWO - Walls of Text. And numbers.
1913.
consider
3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3...
so then you can only guess three consecutive numbers
3,3,3,4,4,4,3,3,3,4,4,4,3,3,3...
so then at least twelve different numbers(this includes repeats) before reuse
3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3...
so then required to guess at least 3 different numbers within a ten round period
3,4,5,3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,2,3...
past that really didn't see any point in making more rules could change it from ten round to five round then you would have to include a different one pretty often but I thought this was fair enough, considering if I say a d100 your kinda getta a what 1/100 to 5/100 chance at like 1-3 level

?????
I mean that no matter how much you prevent repeating, a guess on a d6 is a 1/6th chance, no matter how many times you guess 3.

Re: Count to a Million - PART TWO - Walls of Text. And numbers.
1915. per turn yes. over time no, think about permutation and the fact that order matters over time if you guess the same number your chance never goes down but if you change it goes down almost by half from say 1/6 to 1/12 to 1/24 if I understand the probability right, I know for a fact the probability goes down so... also just to make sure that you are forced to change the possible severity from time to time.
